About the Role:The People Development team at Meta makes it easy for Meta employees to learn fast and build the future. People Development is part of the broader People team and includes: Leadership Development, Growth Programs, Executive Development, and Skills Development. The operations specialist role sits in within the Skills Development operations team and focuses on operational delivery for in-person and virtual onboarding experiences for Meta employees in their first days and weeks at Meta.We’re looking for someone who is skilled at bringing to life complex, high-volume, high-frequency, in-person and virtual events and experiences with a focus on learning. This role partners closely with program owners to ensure seamless operations and a great experience for new hires. You enjoy a dynamic work environment, are adept at partnering with multiple cross-functional teams to deliver great learning experiences. Attention to detail, a structured planning mindset, focus on learner experience, and a bias for action are all critical for this role.

People Development Operations Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end logistics for in-person and/or virtual learning experiences - primarily Tech XFN Camps.
  • Partner with Skills Development program managers and cross-functional teams to deliver the operations for high-quality, impactful learning experiences that meet business needs.
  • Create and manage project plans, timelines, processes, and where needed, schematics to ensure successful event execution.
  • Manage and escalate risks and issues and collaborate with cross-functional partners on resolution. Work to ensure plans are in place to prevent issues from recurring.
  • Analyze data and feedback to identify areas for operational improvement and implement changes to improve future sessions.
  • Manage the intake process for new requests and operational changes to programs.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to participants, and program managers.
  • Communicate with all partners and cross functional team to ensure seamless operational alignment and delivery. Manage operational communications with attendees.
  • Project manage additional projects to help support work that drives organizational goals.
  • Act as back up operations managers for New Hire Orientation and Bootcamp Live.
  • Note: this role will require working outside normal office hours regularly in order to cover New Hire Orientation and Boot Camp Live planned and unplanned absences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional experience managing teams, programs, or events.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and executing operations for large scale, in-person events, with a learning aspect to them, and/or managing operations for virtual learning programs.
  • 3+ years of project management experience, and the skills to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, as well as knowledge and experience of project management tools.
  • Experience managing operations for high volume, high-frequency, high-quality events with complex logistics.
  • Experience operating globally and executing with remote programs including experience with management and oversight of contract workers.
  • Experience supporting employees, learners, and / or customers.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience of coolly managing changes and pivots to programs.
  • Structured approach to work, with attention to detail. Possesses a planning mindset and tool kit to go with it.
  • Experience with data and using it to understand problems and drive decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and can build relationships with partners and a wide range of cross-functional teams.
  • Self motivated and adaptable, you can manage ambiguity with ease.
  • Can prioritize and solve problems both solo and collaboratively.
  • Experience creating clear and concise docs outlining problems and solution options, to act as a focus for discussions with stakeholders.
  • Skilled at leveraging Metamate/AI tools to accelerate pace and improve quality.
  • Fluent in Microsoft and Google Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • LMS experience (CSOD)
