The People Business Partner in Japan plays a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business goals and continues to enable our hyper-growth in the markets. Working closely with business leaders, this role focuses on building strong relationships, providing strategic HR guidance, and driving initiatives that enhance the employee experience. The People Business Partner is a key collaborator in talent management, organisational development, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand their objectives, challenges, and talent needs. Provide strategic HR guidance and support the implementation of people strategies

  • Partner with business leaders to assess and address organizational needs. Contribute to organizational development initiatives to enhance team effectiveness

  • Serve as a trusted advisor in employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of HR policies and practices

  • Drive performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance reviews, and development planning

  • Support business leaders in navigating change initiatives and ensuring a smooth transition for employees

  • Provide insights and analytics through HR reporting to track key HR indicators and inform decision-making

  • Provide support for various employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding and offboarding. 

  • Serve as a support for employees, addressing inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and general HR matters

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and regulations as Subject Matter Expert for the assigned markets. 

Success Profile:

  • Proven experience as a People Business Partner. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HR practices in Japan. 

  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business objectives into effective HR strategies

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels

  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and industry trends

  • Fluency in English. Another language, like Korean, would be an advantage
