As an Interaction Sound Designer at Meta, you'll have the opportunity to shape the sonic landscape of products like Ray-Ban Meta and create immersive experiences that redefine the boundaries of human connection.Define the Future of Audio and HapticsAs a key member of our Creative Audio team, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering innovative UI/UX sounds that bring our products to life, from our cutting-edge Wearables hardware to Meta’s industry-leading family of apps. You will help create a new era of intuitive, engaging, and emotionally resonant experiences that delight our users.Collaborate with the BestYou'll be part of a diverse team of highly-skilled creatives, engineers, and innovators who are pushing the frontiers of audio design. Creative Audio has a proven track record of creating iconic sonic experiences, including Meta Quest, Ray-Ban Meta AI Glasses, Messenger, and WhatsApp. We're looking for someone who shares our in-depth understanding of innovation and will collaborate with our West Coast team to shape the future of audio experiences.

Interaction Sound Designer - Creative Audio - Wearables Responsibilities:

  • Drive complex interaction sound design + haptics projects from discovery to completion
  • Create unique, memorable, and landmark sonic experiences for the 3+ billion people who use Meta technologies
  • Use your proven understanding of User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) sound design to define and distill broad concepts into actionable deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of sound design systems – audio design standards, guidelines, and best practices
  • Act as a source of truth for sound design, design standards, best practices, and implementation guidelines
  • Execute in a time-sensitive and highly fluid environment
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless systems alignment, cohesive audio experiences, and successful project delivery across all Meta products and initiatives
  • Influence key business decisions within the organization and product/business area, leveraging clear data-driven decision making
  • Influence, drive quality and leverage existing resources for product consistency and efficiency
  • Develop and maintain a consistent sonic brand identity across key Meta touchpoints
  • Communicates effectively with technical teams and software developers to ensure seamless and efficient sound implementation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with UI / UX Sound Design
  • 8+ years creating UI sonic experiences for products in mobile, hardware, and non-traditional or immersive environments
  • Understanding of Design Systems and system-level thinking
  • Experience creating bespoke sound design for high-profile products
  • Experience with sound design synthesis and foley recording
  • Proven experience with effective communication across a broad range of stakeholders, collaborators and clients, as well as time-management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in Pro Tools and/or other professional DAWs
  • Understanding of human-centered design
  • Proven experience to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, with a problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to identifying and addressing sound design and implementation problems
  • Understanding of haptics design patterns and principles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing UI and UX audio for Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experiences.
  • Experience creating audio for system-level software development
  • Experience mixing in a variety of formats, including spatial audio
  • Video editing skills (Premier Pro, Final Cut, Avid, and/or similar)
  • Understanding of programming and technical sound paradigms in VR, AR, or other immersive mediums
