Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction.

In this hybrid role, you will report to a Design Manager.

This role is expected to be office-based in Bangalore. While we work to set up our office, individuals will initially work remotely from home.

You Will

  • Manage geometry in CATIA/ENOVIA through manipulation of large assembly data structures and importing/organizing large tranches of vehicle data, preparing it for team access and collaboration.
  • Execute geometric assessment/analysis in CATIA and other tools to detect clashes, confirm clearances and develop a healthy geometry set - in support of virtual builds and service studies.
  • Create bespoke geometry to support issue resolution, concept development and package evaluations during the vehicle development process.
  • Evaluate EBOM structure and hygiene to align with the PLM team, ensuring tree release readiness.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to enable product design and development - progressing toward milestone review and release deadlines.
  • Manage external projects and resources to support program delivery goals.

You Have

  • BS degree in Engineering with 8+ years in Automotive Engineering
  • Expert CATIA skills:
    • A minimum of 10,000 hours using a wide array of CATIA tools.
    • Geometry creation and production component release experience.
    • Comprehension of the end-to-end process from conceptual design to production execution.
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience of automotive vehicle manufacturing and assembly.
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Established ability to plan and prioritize tasks/projects to align with team priorities, achieving progress without supervision.
We Prefer

  • 12+ years of relevant automotive engineering experience.
  • Expertise with ENOVIA or other Product Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Experience with Vis-Mockup or other lightweight geometric evaluation tools.
  • Consideration of a flexible workday schedule including potential working time adjustments that support US Eastern and Pacific time zones.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
