As International Policy, Special Projects Lead, you will lead complex cross-functional planning that advances key company priorities globally, take ownership of emerging policy opportunities and challenges across Asia, Latin America, and other priority geographies, and engage external stakeholders around the world to drive progress in AI policy and AI safety. You will also collaborate with Policy and cross-functional colleagues on a variety of other projects, including strategically expanding our product and policy influence into new markets, developing new policy proposals, and drafting submissions for public comment.
Representative projects:
- Developing strategies to support Anthropic’s international policy objectives, including implementation plans and metrics
- Designing and executing a plan to ensure smooth entry to a new market from a regulatory perspective
- Developing new programming and generating opportunities for Anthropic to build relationships with policymakers, think tanks, and non-profit organizations in overseas markets.
- Creating initial policy stakeholder maps and devising strategic engagement plans
- Setting up a global horizon scanning function to ensure we are prepared and ready to engage substantively on AI policy issues across the world
- Collaborating with policy and technical teams to translate Anthropic research into concrete policy proposals, stakeholder education, and thought leadership opportunities
- Drafting and amplifying public submissions, responses to requests for information (RFI), and policy memos written by Anthropic to drive positive change in AI policy

Strong candidates may also:
- Have extensive experience engaging government regulatory authorities in major international markets from a private sector perspective
- Have demonstrated an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical areas and policy dynamics
- Have a background in entrepreneurship; this role will suit people who are excellent at networking from a ‘cold start’ and who figure out unconventional and effective ways to garner policymaker attention
This role is based in our San Francisco headquarters. We expect this job will require occasional foreign travel.
