We are seeking an experienced
Collections Analyst to help manage the collections process in our dynamic, usage-based tech company. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for executing effective strategies to ensure timely customer payments, reduce outstanding balances, and maintain healthy cash flow. This role requires a proactive candidate with a strong understanding of usage and consumption-based billing models and the ability to foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The Impact You Will Have
- Monitor and manage your assigned accounts receivable portfolio, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices
- Conduct timely research, analysis and decision making for resolution of disputed items, short/over-payments
- Work with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Customer Success, and Legal, to align on strategies for delinquent accounts
- Analyze customer accounts and payment behavior to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement
- Work with cash application team to proactively resolve unapplied cash and timely posting of payments
- Generate and present detailed reports on collections performance, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and other relevant KPIs to senior management
- Collaborate closely with the billing team to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate invoicing
- Ensure accurate customer records through proper account reconciliations
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and sales
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and data analytics to streamline collections and reduce delinquency
What We Look For
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 4+ years of collections experience, ideally with both public/private technology companies
- Experience managing high volume of transactions
- Working knowledge of best practices internal controls
- Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast pace environment without losing sight of accuracy
- Proficiency with Excel is required (Pivot tables, Vlookups)
- Experience with NetSuite or any major ERP and SalesforceCPQ
- High level of analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets, generate reports, and perform complex reconciliations using spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets)
- Experience with Financial Force, Metronome or any billing software is a plus
