Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex capacity models for future datacenter space and power deployment planning that incorporate all physical capacity limits, ensuring all assumptions are understood, measured, modeled and communicated
- Perform scenario analysis with a focus on impact to capacity utilization to advise on infrastructure projects under guidance
- Analyze power and cooling utilization trends, identify inefficiencies, and recommend optimizations to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Support site selection, expansion, and build-out strategies by evaluating datacenter infrastructure capabilities and constraints.
- Work closely with datacenter operations, network, and compute planning teams to align infrastructure deployments with power and space availability.
- Develop KPIs and dashboards for real-time visibility into capacity utilization and manage space and power capacity
- Apply data analysis to inform strategic business decisions prioritizing operational trade-offs and capital spend
- Collaborate with data engineering and tooling teams to drive automation initiatives to improve capacity planning and operational efficiencies
- Analyze how datacenter infrastructure and design changes impact capacity and provide feedback to teams and to upper level management
- Partner with Supply Chain, Delivery, and Datacenter teams to execute and minimize risks on hardware deployment plans across all data centers
Requirements
- Minimum 7-9 years of prior experience in datacenter capacity planning role, infrastructure planning, or a related role
- Strong knowledge of datacenter power distribution (UPS, PDUs, generators, redundancy levels), cooling systems, and space planning
- Understanding of server, storage, and networking hardware and their impact on datacenter resource utilization
- Experience in managing large data structures (i.e. Excel, SQL, Looker/Tableau) to build reports and run analysis
- Ability to make recommendations in an ambiguous environment
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with cross-functional teams to coordinate operations and activities between departments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
