Perplexity is looking for a dynamic and analytical individual to join our Strategic Finance team to help drive scalable growth, build and own financial processes, and be the go-to for all things product & growth finance related.
About the Opportunity:
This role will have a variety of responsibilities but we’re seeking a sharp, creative individual to join our Special Situations Group. You will assist in various business, strategy, and product initiatives, ranging from corporate development, strategic finance, enterprise partnerships, and product. You’ll work closely with the business, finance, product, and engineering teams in the completion of strategic initiatives that help Perplexity scale and develop meaningful products. The ideal candidate brings intellectual curiosity about AI technology, analytical rigor, technical understanding of software and AI products, and creativity in problem solving.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and own financial analysis for product and growth initiatives, ranging from topline projections down to unit economics for various growth channels
- Develop and own core financial models used for strategic planning, including aggregating projections and feedback across all major teams in the organization
- Develop financial frameworks for analyzing unique, large strategic partnerships and deals
- Lead various special projects required by C-suite and VPs ranging across product, growth, engineering, search, and business
- Independently identify areas within the organization that need analytical support and use analysis to drive clarity in critical decision-making
- Help develop and build scalable processes across finance, business, and growth
What you’ll bring:
- At least 2+ years of direct investing experience (private equity, hedge fund, VC) or strategic finance role at another rapidly growing startup
- At least 2 years of banking or consulting at top-tier firm
- Experience in building financial analysis to drive strategic decisions
- Strong financial acumen and ability to partner with growth and engineering teams
- Hands-on attitude to tackle projects large and small, low-ego approach to working across the organization
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Our cash compensation range for this role is $190,000 - $230,000.
Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above
