About the Role:
The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting Systems and Transformation, is a strategic role responsible for spearheading initiatives that reshape processes and operations throughout finance and accounting and will report to the Chief Accounting Officer. Working directly with all areas of the finance/accounting organization, technology partners, and other business stakeholders, this leader will drive innovation and efficiency, leveraging accounting and systems expertise to transform key areas of processes impacting accounting operations and financial reporting, including P2P, OTC, Fixed Assets, GL, and Financial Reporting.
This role will have a profound impact on the organization by delivering measurable improvements in processes by ensuring that the organization’s growth and sustainability are supported by an appropriate systems environment, existence of key controls and value-add activities. While setting a clear methodology for identification and evaluation of finance transformation activities, this position will partner with functional leaders and team members to establish and monitor the finance transformation priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, project management and team development will be key to the success of this role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Finance Transformation related initiatives and business process optimization to ensure that the key accounting and operational processes are sufficiently and appropriately supported by relevant systems.
- Ownership of financial reporting systems, including implementations, major customizations and optimization efforts and expansion of the contracts/SOWs with key vendors of systems that affect the financial reporting of the organization.
- Develop a process to partner with business leaders to conduct current to future state gap analyses that builds into a comprehensive roadmap of priorities within finance/accounting functions and holistically across the finance organization.
- Create and maintain a process that guides identification of transformation priorities.
- Lead the process, in conjunction with IT and other members of the finance function, to develop and deliver a multi-year transformation strategic finance process and systems roadmap, including budgeting, planning, and status reporting against the roadmap.
- Establish a clear prioritization model for strategic finance decisions to enable the multi-year roadmap. Create a culture of accountability to ensure the implementation of the scope, budget, schedule, and quality of transformational priorities.
- Enable the project operations team to report on and deliver transformational value on an ongoing basis through proactive budget management, project status reporting, value realization and project scope documentation.
- Partner across the team to stay closely aligned with team members supporting business case development and execution of road map activities.
- Maintain line of sight into evolving organizational dynamics, resource constraints, program and project dependencies, and other factors to highlight risks to the portfolio of current and future projects.
- Manage the process for measuring value realization from implementing both quick wins and mid/longer-term initiatives.
- Own relationships and serve as a liaison between third-party consultants, vendors, and IT department.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate financial transformation with other business units across the organization.
- Build and manage relationships with key senior stakeholders, organizations, and business heads.
Team Leadership
- Leads, coaches and develops their team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Leverages development tools to facilitate training and upskilling of team members
- Leads performance management and appraisals as well as goal setting for team members
Requirements:
- 10+ years of accounting/finance/consulting experience, in combination with financial reporting systems experience.
- Prior experience with ERP and other key accounting systems implementations.
- Demonstrated track record of having successfully overseen large, cross-functional transformation initiatives.
- Ability to successfully manage relationships across multiple functions and execute against collective goals.
- Well-developed sense of urgency and follow-through.
- Affinity for a high-performance, project-oriented work environment.
- ·Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, manage competing agendas and priorities, and translate complex information across functions.
- Solid understanding of key accounting processes including P2P, OTC, R2R, Fixed Assets as well as SOX.
- Excellent Project Management skills: ability to lead and shape complex projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Experience within the IT/Cloud service industry preferred but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or alternatively, a degree in IT systems, with supplemental education in accounting or finance)
- MBA and/or CPA preferred.
What We Offer
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $160,000 in our lowest geographic market up to $200,000 in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Hybrid Workplace
Successful candidates will be expected to attend onboarding training at our NJ Headquarters within their first several weeks of employment, with subsequent quarterly travel requirements of 1 week duration.
