We are looking for an experienced Talent Acquisition (TA) Partner to join our London Team for a 12 month fixed term. Reporting into the Talent Acquisition Lead (EMEA) for Research and Science, you will have responsibility for hiring Research Scientists for a number of teams across Google DeepMind (GDM), and will closely collaborate with our wider TA team, based across both North America and London.

The role
Working in partnership with business leaders to improve our efforts in attracting and securing outstanding talent required to solve our mission. You’ll do this through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion; ensuring our process and candidate experience is fair, positive and meaningful for all.
Key responsibilities:
- Operate as a full-life cycle recruiter driving end-to-end talent acquisition for Research Scientist roles across a number of critical GDM teams in EMEA.
- Become a strong DEI champion for GDM - leverage (or create new!) resources to help the business achieve DEI aspirations.
- Identify gaps in staffing structure (interview questions, process inefficiencies, rubrics, comp, etc.) and develop solutions that enable the business to seamlessly engage with hiring and our processes.
- Provide strong and consistent communication between the talent acquisition team and the business.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and operate as a trusted and strategic talent advisor.
- Represent GDM at external events to strengthen relationships, promote our brand and engage with candidates.
- Develop and maintain talent acquisition strategies tailored to the EMEA market.
About you
To set you up for success in Talent Acquisition at Google DeepMind, we look for the following skills and experience:
- A thought partner, offering a consultative approach, ensuring hiring is fair, equitable and inclusive.
- Experience hiring a broad range of Research roles (eg Research Scientists and Research Engineers) from a global talent pool
- A champion of data-driven recruitment practices, with the ability to create compelling business reports.
- Interested in AI and Technology, wanting to contribute to GDM’s mission in a pioneering and responsible way.
- Experience utilising sourcing strategies, and engaging with candidates.
- Partnering with key stakeholders to manage complex offer negotiations and successfully close candidates.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to successfully recognize and advocate for talent from non-traditional backgrounds.
- Strong domain knowledge and expertise in AI/ML/Research talent acquisition
- Experience developing new staffing processes and workflows
In addition, the following would be an advantage:
- Demonstrated success operating in unstructured and ambiguous environments.
- Track record of designing strategy and delivering impact for a client
