At Databricks, our mission as designers is to make data science simpler and more accessible so that more people can contribute to solving the world’s toughest problems. Product Designers at Databricks balance the creativity of a craftsperson with the analytical curiosity of a data scientist. We believe in the traditional and timeless value of great graphic design - while at the same time, we have a restless desire to get to the truth and make the best decisions possible using data. We design simple and collaborative products that have the power to delight a discriminating and highly technical audience.

Your work will significantly impact Databricks’ critical business areas by simplifying how data engineers build, monitor, and debug their data pipelines.
This role requires a unique blend of technical acumen and design expertise, as you’ll navigate the complexities of data engineering to ship experiences that not only meet the technical requirements of our users but are visually appealing and easy to use.
The Impact You Will Have
- You will simplify how data engineers build, monitor, and debug their data pipelines
- You will contribute to key Orchestration projects, ensuring they meet our high standards for usability while aligning with our strategic objectives.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product, to deliver designs that reflect user needs and business goals.
- You will collaborate with other designers to identify opportunities for alignment and unification across the product
- You will conduct user research and testing to validate design concepts and improve usability
- You will contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of our design systems
- You will provide valuable design feedback and critique within the design team
What We Look For

- A bachelor's or higher degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A strong portfolio of past projects demonstrating a solid design process, from inception to production
- Experience working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with both design and non-design stakeholders.
- Can execute beautiful visual and interaction work that’s rooted in a data-driven, and well-researched UX process
