The Opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting and analytical skills and can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role will work cross-functionally with teams throughout the organization within a detail-oriented climate where creative problem-solving is highly valued.
This opportunity is ideal for someone with excellent core knowledge of operational revenue accounting, commission accounting, and US GAAP rules who is eager to contribute their expertise to a rapidly growing company. The ideal candidate will have a complete vision of the revenue and commission accounting process, including billings and commissions, and will work closely with the team to streamline processes that impact our operations and financial statements.
As a Revenue Accountant, you will work in a fast-paced environment and help lead our dedicated enterprise revenue accounting team to support Grammarly Business. You will collaborate cross-functionally, improving our current processes and establishing new ones while enhancing our revenue accounting and reporting.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the Accounts Receivable (AR) function, ensuring timely and accurate customer invoicing, collections, and cash application processes.
- Provide expert guidance within AR-related standards and processes to resolve business issues effectively.
- Manage and execute reconciliations and other processes within the AR cycle to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Order-to-Cash, Billing, and Cash.
- Manage applications to ensure all fully executed agreements are processed and invoiced correctly.
- Collaborate with Dealdesk and the Sales team to improve AR-related workflows, such as vendor onboarding, contract management, and billing processes.
- Assist with special projects as needed, including system evaluations and implementations to enhance AR efficiency; drive these projects to completion.
- Support new business initiatives and product lines by managing AR-related activities and ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
- Has 4 years of experience in the Account Receivable or Revenue Accounting process, including invoicing.
- Demonstrates substantial revenue accounting knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606 at a high–growth technology company.
- Skilled in NetSuite, Salesforce, Celigo, Dealhub, or other similar tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Fosters effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Has solid written and spoken English.
- Is a self-motivated individual who thrives in a team environment and maintains a positive outlook.
- Is able to work primarily on the US (PST) based hours - up to 12 am CET.
