This is a fully remote role.

At The Rundown, we’re building the leading media company that makes AI information accessible, understandable, and impactful for everyone. AI is moving fast and will continue to change the way we live and work — our mission is to teach the world how to understand and use it.

Since launching in January 2023, our newsletter and social media channels engage with millions of people each day, and our new AI university teaches how to use the tools that are quickly becoming a part of daily life.

About the role

We need someone who’s sharp, knowledgeable, witty, creative, and a great writer/editor who can both create and polish content. We’re looking for someone who has exceptional curiosity and news judgement to unpack the ever-changing world of AI and technology and make it relevant, relatable, and understandable to different audiences around the world.

Majority of the work for this role will be done on Sundays to Thursdays.

What you’ll do

Assist in producing our flagship daily newsletter, writing as needed and editing (from Sunday-Thursday).
Track the success of newsletters and content over time, identifying top performers as well as opportunities for growth, optimization, engagement, and development, and making recommendations based on data.
Create compelling and shareable content for our social media channels, including Twitter and LinkedIn. This will include short posts and long threads, and may include memes, graphics, polls, and other multimedia content designed to inform and entertain our audience.
Track and analyze social media metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of our content. Use data-driven insights to optimize content strategies and drive continuous improvement.
Stay up to date with the latest social media trends including software and algorithm changes, audience preferences, and current best practices for each respective platform.
Stay on top of AI news and developments every day with the goal of being one of the most connected and knowledgable people in AI in the world.
Suggest and implement new ideas to develop brand awareness.

In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll think about our core products, how we can expand into new areas, and how we can move even faster. And since we’re a small team, you may have to get your hands dirty to ensure ideas are executed on.

Our ideal candidate

Understands the AI landscape and is both curious and enthusiastic about new technology.
Has experience producing email newsletters and publishing online content, and can create engaging content in the blink of an eye.
Knows how to create compelling social content that gets engagement because of its quality and value.
Has experience writing viral Twitter/X threads and posts.
Has a golden eye for detail.
Communicates extremely well and is great at giving constructive feedback to others about their work.
Has experience with tools like Beehiiv and Canva.
Learns fast and hustles to get stuff done.
Is a self-starter who sets high standards and leads by example.
Values honesty, integrity, accountability, and fairness.
