About the Role
As the Product Manager for Core Product at Claude.ai, you will shape the evolution of Claude from an AI assistant to a true collaborative partner for users. You'll own the core interaction model and fundamental capabilities that define how users work with Claude, pushing the boundaries of human-AI collaboration while maintaining an intuitive, trustworthy experience. Working at the intersection of frontier AI capabilities and user needs, you'll transform Claude into an indispensable thought partner that amplifies human potential across a wide range of cognitive tasks.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define the strategy and vision for Claude's core interaction model, balancing powerful capabilities with intuitive usability
- Develop frameworks for identifying and prioritizing new collaboration patterns that meaningfully enhance how users work with Claude
- Create roadmaps that systematically evolve Claude's ability to engage in complex, multi-turn collaborations
Product Development
- Partner with research and engineering to transform novel AI capabilities into intuitive collaborative features
- Design and validate new interaction patterns that make Claude more effective as a thought partner
- Build and optimize core workflows that enable deeper, more meaningful collaboration between users and Claude
- Develop sophisticated quality frameworks to ensure Claude consistently delivers high-value collaborative experiences
Cross-functional Leadership
- Work closely with design to create intuitive interfaces for complex collaborative interactions
- Partner with research to identify opportunities to enhance Claude's collaborative capabilities
- Collaborate with user research to deeply understand how users want to work with AI
- Coordinate with platform teams to ensure core features can scale across different surfaces
You may be a good fit if you have:
- 8+ years of product management experience, with track record of shipping complex user-facing products
- Strong understanding of human-computer interaction and collaboration patterns
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to align diverse stakeholders
Strong candidates may have:
- Experience building AI/ML products or other emerging technologies
- Background in tools for knowledge work or creative collaboration
- Understanding of large language model capabilities and limitations
- Track record of 0-to-1 product development
