Role Overview
Labelbox is seeking a Technical Writer who will play a critical role in shaping how our customers and teams understand and interact with our platform. This position is ideal for someone passionate about creating robust, customer-facing documentation that communicates complex concepts clearly and empowers users ranging from AI novices to expert data scientists and machine learning engineers.
Your Impact
- Maintain the clarity and accuracy of docs.labelbox.com as our platform evolves and scales.
- Own the content creation process, including writing, editing, and reviewing documentation to maintain high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Own the organization and discoverability of all customer-facing documentation, ensuring users can easily find the information they need.
- Stay closely aligned with the product engineering roadmap to manage documentation drafts, reviews, and timely publishing for new features and changes.
- Publish comprehensive release notes after every month to keep customers informed on updates.
- Collaborate with the Product Operations Manager to document and communicate upcoming deprecations and feature changes to customers.
- Develop clean, instructional guides and contextual explanations so users can confidently set up their Labelbox workflows and understand the value, function, and fit of individual features.
- Create clear diagrams and visual aids illustrating common workflows and use cases within the Labelbox platform.
- Ensure Labelbox API references are accurate, up to date, and easy to understand.
- Support the documentation needs of Product Engineering & Support teams by managing & prioritizing the flow of internal requests for content updates and improvements.
- Work continuously with the Support team to ensure internal teams have the information they need to help customers efficiently.
- Own all systems and standards for maintaining documentation quality and accessibility.
What You Bring
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, product documentation, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts.
- Portfolio showcasing clear, effective technical documentation.
- Proven ability to gather technical details from busy or technical stakeholders (Product Managers, Engineers) and translate them into intuitive guides.
- Demonstrated best practices for writing accessible, structured, and easy-to-follow documentation.
- Familiarity with documentation tools, version control systems, and content management platforms.
- Experience working with:
- JSON syntax
- Python code documentation
- Google Collab notebooks
- Markdown or reStructuredText
- Git and GitHub workflows
- Persistent, curious mindset—unafraid to ask questions and dig deeply until you fully understand a concept.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing multiple requests and priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.

- Familiarity with GraphQL syntax.
- Familiarity with Mintlify.
