Snapshot
Join the GenAI Ecosystem team and become the operational backbone of Google's entire GenAI strategy! Our mission is to get the right Gemini information and artifacts to the right people at the right time. We are the central hub that connects cutting-edge research with Alphabet's product teams, ensuring the secure, compliant, and efficient delivery of AI models. This team builds and manages the critical processes that allow GenAI to scale and deliver to production, overseeing everything from model release tooling and access control to technical documentation, scaled user support, and metrics. If you thrive on bringing order to complexity and are passionate about building scalable systems for breakthrough technology, we want to hear from you!
The role
Technical Program Managers on the GenAI Ecosystem Operations team organize the flow of information, artifacts, and people at the critical boundary between Gemini (and GDM’s other GenAI modeling efforts), the rest of Google and Alphabet. As a Technical Operations Program Manager, you make sure the right people get the right artifacts at the right time, you operate well at a high-pace and under pressure, and make sure researchers can work and product teams can launch with minimal friction. You also have a desire for improving the processes you own.
Please note: this is a 12 month fixed-term contract (FTC) role.
Key responsibilities
Operational Execution for the GenAI Release Process, Access Control, and other operational functions:
- Manage the daily operations of the GenAI Release Process: This involves actively tracking and guiding checkpoints through the defined approval and review stages.
- Monitor and advance progress through downstream approvals and release processes: Ensure smooth progression of checkpoints through all necessary stages for release.
- Maintain and drive access controls for GenAI Assets: Implement and manage access control operations throughout different stages of the research development.
- Contribute to the identification and resolution of system issues: Recognize and report system or tooling problems that impact process efficiency.
Workflow Management:
- Serve as a key point of contact for routine inquiries: Address questions and provide information regarding the status of release tasks, access requests and checkpoints.
- Prepare and distribute status reports and dashboards: Create and share regular updates summarizing progress, highlighting key milestones, and identifying any roadblocks.
- Facilitate workflows and process execution across teams: Coordinate tasks and dependencies between different teams involved in access and release processes.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Identify and escalate potential risks and issues: Proactively recognize and report any risks or issues that could impact the release process, ensuring timely awareness and mitigation.
- Collect and analyze process data: Gather and analyze data on process performance to track progress, identify trends, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Provide basic user support for process tools: Assist users with questions and basic troubleshooting related to the tools supporting the release process.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement: Actively seek feedback and suggest improvements to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness based on operational experience.
This role is a vital part of the team, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the GenAI Ecosystem Team through diligent execution, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication. It's an opportunity to contribute directly to critical processes and develop valuable program management skills
