About the Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Assistant at xAI Memphis, you will support the upkeep of our supercomputing data center facilities by assisting with routine non-critical maintenance tasks. Under close supervision, you'll help with basic operations and limited maintenance on critical equipment, contributing to a reliable and efficient environment that powers our AI-driven mission. This entry-level role emphasizes hands-on learning, teamwork, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities

Assist in performing non-critical maintenance and repair work, such as:

Under direct supervision of an operator, assist as required in the operation of critical equipment.

Assist in the performance of limited maintenance on offline critical equipment as directed, including:

Single chiller maintenance

Single CDU filter changeouts

Leak detection verification in alarming racks

Support daily inspections of facilities areas to identify and report potential issues.

Help maintain spare parts inventory and assist with basic organization of tools and equipment.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols during all tasks.

Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.

Provide support during scheduled system maintenance or minor repairs.

Assist in documenting work performed and any observed issues.

Participate in team training sessions and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (relevant experience or technical certification preferred).

1+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related hands-on role (data center experience is a plus).

Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.

Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
