About the Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Technician at xAI Memphis, you will handle routine non-critical maintenance while supporting operations on critical systems under supervision. You'll perform limited maintenance on offline equipment, ensuring the smooth functioning of our data center infrastructure. This role focuses on hands-on execution, process adherence, and collaboration to maintain high reliability in support of xAI’s AI advancements.
Responsibilities

Perform non-critical maintenance and repair work, including:

Under direct supervision of an operator, assist as required in the operation of critical equipment.

Perform limited maintenance on offline critical equipment as directed, including:

Single chiller maintenance
-
Single CDU filter changeouts
-
Leak detection verification in alarming racks

Conduct daily inspections of facilities areas to ensure performance standards and proactively report issues.

Maintain spare parts inventory to minimize downtime and assist with ordering as needed.

Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for consistency and efficiency.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams for equipment maintenance and minor installations.

Document all work performed, including repairs and observations, for accurate records.

Support team efforts in troubleshooting and basic repairs.
Basic Qualifications

2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related role (data center experience preferred).

Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.

Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.

Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to manage time and priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills and Experience

Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (e.g., HVAC, electrical, or mechanical certification).

Experience with building management systems (BMS) or environmental monitoring tools.

EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA 608 Technician).

Familiarity with preventive maintenance scheduling.
