About the role
As International Policy Analyst, you will ensure effective execution of complex cross-functional plans that advance key company priorities globally, help the company assess and engage in emerging policy opportunities, and address challenges across priority geographies. A key priority will be to engage external stakeholders around the world to drive progress in AI policy and AI safety. You will also collaborate with Policy and cross-functional colleagues on a variety of other projects, including strategically expanding our product and policy influence into new markets, developing new policy proposals, and drafting submissions for public comment.
In this role, you will:
- Contribute to the development of strategies to support Anthropic’s international policy objectives, including implementation plans and metrics
- Support projects to ensure smooth entry to a new market from a regulatory perspective
- Propose and develop new programming and generate opportunities for Anthropic to build relationships with policymakers, think tanks, and non-profit organizations in overseas markets.
- Create initial policy stakeholder maps and devise strategic engagement plans
- Collaborate with policy and technical teams to translate Anthropic research into concrete policy proposals, stakeholder education, and thought leadership opportunities
- Draft and amplify public submissions, responses to requests for information (RFI), and policy memos written by Anthropic to drive positive change in AI policy
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have a track record of supporting tech and AI policy advocacy in either APAC, LATAM and/or EMEA with an ability to think globally and comparatively
- Are a skilled researcher, analyst, and writer
- Thrive when engaging with governments, policymakers, and civil society to translate complex technical topics into accessible information
- Know what resources and narratives will be useful for policymakers to understand and act on a particular issue area
- Have demonstrated success in identifying and convening stakeholders at a regional and global level
- Have experience working in a fast-paced, cross functional and global team
- Are motivated to better equip governments to understand the pace of progress in the AI field and develop effective policies
- Have a deep curiosity for frontier technological research and are eager to work closely with technical colleagues
Strong candidates may also:
- Have extensive experience engaging government regulatory authorities in major international markets from a private sector perspective
- Have demonstrated an ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical areas and policy dynamics
- Have a background in entrepreneurship; this role will suit people who are excellent at networking from a ‘cold start’ and who figure out unconventional and effective ways to garner policymaker attention
This role is based in our San Francisco headquarters. We expect this job will require occasional foreign travel.
