Lakera is seeking a Sales Engineering Manager to build and lead a high-performing global Solutions Engineering team as we scale. As we expand from 2 to 10+ Solutions Engineers worldwide, this leader will define the culture, standards, and technical credibility of the function while shaping Lakera’s global go-to-market engine.
In this player-coach role, you will drive technical pre-sales strategy, accelerate revenue growth, and ensure customer success across enterprise accounts. You will establish scalable processes and serve as a key bridge between Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering. Your impact will directly influence revenue growth, product evolution, and how enterprises secure the future of AI.

What You’ll Do:
Build and lead a global team of Solutions Engineers, hiring and developing top talent as Lakera scales across regions.
Own the technical pre-sales strategy, ensuring high-quality discovery, solution design, demos, and POCs that align with customer infrastructure and accelerate revenue.
Partner closely with Sales leadership to support strategic enterprise deals and drive pipeline growth.
Establish performance standards, coaching frameworks, and scalable playbooks to build a world-class Solutions Engineering function.
Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure seamless handoffs and long-term customer value realization.
Work directly with Product and Engineering to translate field feedback into roadmap priorities and ensure the platform evolves with real-world enterprise needs.
Track and improve key metrics such as win rates, sales cycle time, and technical resource utilization to continuously optimize team performance.
What You’ll Bring:
8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar technical customer-facing roles.
2+ years of experience managing or leading high-performing technical teams.
Proven experience scaling a pre-sales or solutions function in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment.
Strong enterprise experience working with security, AI, or infrastructure products.
Proficiency in Python and/or Javascript ecosystems, with the ability to go deep technically when needed.
Hands-on experience with at least one hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, Azure); familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Strong understanding of enterprise security, compliance, and IT procurement processes.
A track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.
Excellent executive communication skills and comfort presenting to C-level technical and business audiences.
Experience working across global teams and distributed environments.
A builder mindset with the ability to create structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Passion for responsible AI and ensuring its secure and ethical deployment.
Location: New York.

Compensation and Benefits: Our total compensation package is a blend of salary, equity and benefits.
We are committed to paying fairly and aim for these three elements collectively to be highly competitive with market rates. Equity - On top of this position's compensation, equity will be a major component of the total compensation.
