Senior Sales Engineer
About this role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sales Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth through the promotion and sales of our products. You will be working directly with our customers and sales leadership to architect and promote winning solutions and business strategies.
The ideal candidate has held similar technical positions in the past. Experience building, deploying, or supporting machine learning solutions in production platforms in the Enterprise space.
Responsibilities & opportunities in this role:
- Develop a deep understanding of Groq’s ML accelerator silicon solutions, boards and systems, and the GroqWare Software Development Kit (SDK).
- Lead all technical sales activities related to customer engagements from early stage through the successful design win stages.
- Lead early stage technical discussions in tandem with sales account managers to present Groq product offerings.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote our technical products and services.
- Uncover and understand customer solutions and identify critical technical and/or business considerations.
- Develop and articulate Groq’s unique product value messaging while positioning to target specific customer opportunities.
- Prepare and present demonstrations (demo's) and proof points to gain technical credibility and advance the sales engagement.
- Work in partnership with sales account leaders in developing winning technical proposals with Groq products.
- Recommend product enhancements and improvements to Product Marketing teams based on first-hand knowledge and usage.
Ideal candidates have/are:
- Technically curious problem solver with the ability to quickly understand complex technical and business challenges, synthesize and articulate back identified opportunities.
- A strong technical understanding of AI/ML, the targeted applications, and competition.
- Prior experience working in or with customers at the executive level.
- Strong writer and public speaker; operate with integrity and drive transparency, openness, and effective communication.
- Comfortable engaging directly with customers, particularly with executive or architect level engineering leadership.
Qualifications for this role:
At minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM), or comparable area of study.
- 5+ years experience working with Enterprise accounts
- A proven track record of supporting customers through highly complex sales cycles.
- Ability to communicate complex concepts to a wide range of audiences, including technical and non-technical customers into clear business benefits.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Have a passion to meet or exceed customer expectations, resolve issues expeditiously and proactively.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring and cross-functional collaborative and influencing skills.
- Effective communication & presentation skills and comfortable in a customer-facing environment.
- Able to work in a very dynamic start-up environment
- Willingness to travel world-wide to customer locations to support customer engagements up to 25% travel during peak periods (i.e. one week per month).
Highly valued, not required:
- Applied experience with machine learning and data science.
- Preferred 5+ years in machine learning or similar algorithmic/computational experience in model development or deployment.
- Experience working with large enterprises across multiple industries.
- Experience with Information, Network, & Infrastructure Security concepts.

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, the base salary range is $143,600 to $289,100, determined by your skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks.
