What will you be doing at DeepL?
You will be part of the Product Organisation that is responsible for end to end development of DeepL's platform, reporting to our VP of Product. Our growing team is a cross-functional mix of engineering, product, analysts, and data scientists working towards our common goal of leveraging our user data. Your mission is to create value from the vast amount of data we collect from our 120+ million users, empower product teams and ensure all of the business is data driven. As our Director of Product Analytics, you will lead the Data Science and Data Analytics crafts with areas such as AB Testing, Metrics and Company Reporting, Performance Marketing and Monetization. In this role, you will have a significant impact on developing the best possible translation experience and breaking down language barriers.
Your responsibilities
- Set and lead data strategy across the Product Organisation and wider business
- Partner with our VPs of Engineering to lead the development of our data and analytics platform with robustness and scalability in mind
- Provide leadership and guidance to individual data science team leaders and their teams' projects
- Ensure all of the business is informed with the relevant reporting at the right time, and enable teams and organisations to be data driven
- Be responsible for the growth strategy and hiring of data science and analytics staff
- Establish career paths and growth opportunities for team members
- Leading the development of our technical and analytics infrastructure with robustness and scalability in mind
- Implementing best practices and elevating the quality of our work to the next level
- Collaborate with product leaders to understand their mission and help them achieve their goals
Qualities we look for
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the field of data analytics or data science
- 5+ years of experience leading and scaling teams
- Operated in technology businesses at scale
- Experience of B2B SaaS and all relevant business metrics, ideally also experience of Product Led Growth companies or B2C
- Know the Business Intelligence requirements of a fast growth technology company by heart
- Experience working in business-facing roles to support decision making
- Fluency in English, our corporate language
