The International Team:
Based out of Abu Dhabi, Shield AI’s International Team handles all strategy and business development activity in the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania. The International Team works closely with US based Growth, Product, Operations and other internal functions as well as a variety of international partners and entities. It is our responsibility to build Shield AI’s business around the globe, source opportunities, win deals, and execute international programs.
For this role, you will be located in South Korea. You will be provided a specific territory (primary focus of South Korea) in which you will be responsible for both creating and executing the strategy to close deals in order to meet specific annual orders (sales) quotas. These deals must be setup for successful, programmatic execution in order to achieve overall revenue targets for the company in the following year(s). You will also be accountable for supporting your team members in achieving the overall annual targets of the Senior Director responsible for the region(s).
What You'll Do:
- Engage with customers regularly to present and discuss Shield AI products
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, or other industry events to espouse Shield AI products
- Devise and coordinate marketing and government relations opportunities
- Build and devise the structure of industry partnerships
- Plan and execute product demonstrations
- Work cross-functionally to provide responses to or address customers needs
- Lead proposal response
- Develop offset strategies
- Manage team budget
Minimum Qualifications:
- Fully fluent in English and Korean (written and oral).
- Already living in or willing to expat to South Korea for 2+ Years
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, frequently and without restriction, including customer sites
- Specific strategy or business development experience in the Asia Pacific region (preferably in Korea).
- Prior UAV and/or AI business development experience (closed major deals).
- Willing to support the Abu Dhabi and CONUS offices from South Korea.
- >10 Years of relevant military or prior defense industry or other international business experience
- Strong technical knowledge within the UAV and AI disciplines
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of the military operations and the acquisition process that allows you to maintain strong customer relations
- Strong international relationships and demonstrated ability to work well across and with various cultures, customs, etc.
- Desire to help build the defining defense technology company of this century
- Technically competent in the myriad of systems that are required to function at the speed of business
- Team oriented with the ability to communicate with an understanding of nuances associated with being collaborative while also being blunt and forthright
- Charismatic leader, with the ability to motivate and inspire others and impart excitement about Shield AI’s mission, technology, and products
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding critical goals and deadlines
- Exceptional communicator: strong written, verbal, and presentation skills and the ability to communicate seamlessly at all levels of business and government
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
- United States Citizen
- MBA or related Master’s degree in a related field, and 5+ years of leadership and/or operational experience within the DoD or international equivalents (e.g., MoD)
- Demonstrated understanding of specific Army/Navy/etc. operational scenarios and systems
- Prior operational experience with UAVs and systems with advanced autonomy
- Strong research and analysis skills
- Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance
