We’re the real estate specialists who find and build amazing workspaces and research facilities, depots, and charging infrastructure for our fleet operations and maintenance; the systems experts who develop and run our intuitive IT and business tools; the administrators who plan events, manage vendors, and orchestrate the daily activities of our teams and leaders. Together, we do everything it takes to keep Waymo rolling.
You will report directly to our Chief Financial Officer.
You Will
- Lead and manage a team, overseeing infrastructure supply strategy, resource allocation, project execution, and delivery timelines to achieve project goals and objectives
- Collaborate with Waymo teams, including fleet operations and the partnership team, to design and deliver functional, accessible, and sustainable facilities that adapt to their changing needs, while optimizing for time and cost efficiency.
- Partner with internal / external service providers (both domestic and international) including facilities managers, contractors, security and other service providers to deliver high quality, cost-effective and timely solutions appropriate to Waymo’s developing and evolving needs
- Develop and implement standard specifications for fleet operation depots and charging infrastructure, as well as standard methodologies and operating procedures for employee workplaces (e.g. for auditing, planning and program management) and drive adoption by the organization and by partners.
- Partner with main support departments, such as Finance, Procurement, BD, Legal, and Alphabet partners, to manage resources, budgets, risks, and legal considerations across Waymo's facility portfolio. Communicate with the Waymo leadership team, including the CEO, providing regular analytical updates on portfolio progress, potential risks, and strategic recommendations.
- Oversee a people development agenda, including attracting passionate team members, developing critical competencies, building a consistent and coordinated Waymo REWS team that partners across the business and Alphabet, promoting the leadership learning process and facilitating functional and technical skill building
You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Law, or a related field.
- 15+ years of business experience including 10+ years of real estate / facilities management / Workplace services or consulting experience. Experience managing a complex, multi-site facilities function within a rapidly expanding organization, ensuring operational excellence and supporting business growth; also experience in supporting some combination of depot, manufacturing and lab environments in addition to office seating type facilities
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategic plans, while managing daily operations. Excel at prioritizing and adapting to evolving needs, managing workload and ensuring accuracy even when faced with evolving needs and demands.
- Demonstrate agility in managing evolving priorities and diverse projects, organizing tasks and driving progress while addressing challenges.
- Experience effectively collaborating and communicating with team members at all levels, including C-suite executives, to guide consensus and informed decision-making.
We Prefer
- Hardware development / Manufacturing / automotive Ride Share industry experience a definite advantage
- Success in building, leading and developing successful Real estate / Work Place services teams in multi-faceted environments across multiple geographies (including an international dimension) and site types, including supporting a business from R&D stage to mature operating company
- Project and portfolio management expertise including familiarity with a broad range of financial, legal and regulatory considerations as they relate to real estate and facilities management activities
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
