The Role
Metropolis develops advanced computer vision and machine learning technology that makes mobile commerce remarkable. Our platform is deployed in hundreds of parking facilities and used by millions of customers, and we are building a digital platform through which the future of mobile commerce will move. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Copywriter to support a variety of internal teams, while also leading the development of Metropolis’ voice and tone and setting the standard for writing quality company wide.
The role will be based in New York and will coordinate with each of the regions and divisions to drive standards and best practices, balanced with market relevancy.
As Copywriter, you will be responsible for Metropolis' voice and tone, standardizing how it comes to life in Sales Enablement material, Product UI, on-location signage, and the web (among many other potential applications). You are a creative, conceptual systems thinker who has built voice and tone at the foundational level and overseen its continued iteration and development. You will frequently interface with stakeholders across the business to ensure continuity and build brand unity. You have experience in high volume creative teams and are looking for an opportunity to author and own a written system at a growth stage company.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Metropolis Senior Creative Director, you will be the first writer on a growing creative team.
- You’ll collaborate closely with the Communications, Marketing, Product, Revenue, Operations, and Executive teams.
- You’ll be a key author, and owner of, the Metropolis voice and tone.
- You’ll develop and evangelize the Metropolis voice and tone ongoing, both through your writing and partnership with a wide array of stakeholder groups.
- You’ll write and edit website copy including product descriptions, value propositions, and keyword-rich content to optimize for SEO.
- You’ll write and edit compelling and segmented marketing emails to maximize open rate, click-through, and conversion.
- You’ll write and edit ads and captions for our organic and paid social channels (in partnership with our Marketing and Operations teams).
- You’ll write and edit corporate communications, both from the corporate point of view and in the voice of individual executive leaders.
- You’ll write and edit Sales Enablement material, arming our Revenue and Operations teams with collateral to fuel the pitch process.
- You collaborate and consult with our Product team, moonlighting as a UX and functional writer ad hoc.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of copywriting experience, either in-house, at an agency, or both.
- A portfolio or work samples demonstrating a clear link to the role; voice and tone foundations are a must.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and work independently.
- Ability to prioritize work according to business needs.
- Ability to influence stakeholders laterally and collaborate with stakeholders vertically.
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite and Figma.
When you join Metropolis, you’ll join a team of world-class product leaders and engineers, building an ecosystem of technologies at the intersection of parking, mobility, and real estate. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. You will play a key role in building and maintaining this culture as our organization grows.
