Role Summary:
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will partner directly with customers to understand their biggest challenges and rapidly design, implement, and integrate technical solutions that drive real impact. This role blends problem-solving, creativity, and hands-on engineering as you help deploy products and workflows in live environments. You’ll gain unique exposure to critical industries and institutions across the country and play a key role in shaping how they operate and innovate.
Our ideal candidate is technically curious, an excellent communicator, and deeply committed to customer success. They thrive in collaborative environments working seamlessly with both technical and non-technical partners and are comfortable operating in a fast-moving setting with evolving goals and continuous user feedback.
What you'll do
Technical Solution Design & Architecture: Leverage engineering expertise to design scalable AI workflows for clinical and operational use cases. You will produce professional-grade systems and data-flow diagrams to define interfaces, failure modes, and integration points with EHRs and legacy systems.
Build & Deploy AI Agents: You will get hands-on to configure and deploy Large Language Model (LLM) powered workflows. This involves applying advanced prompting strategies, building agentic workflows, and tuning vector stores for quality, latency, and cost.
Security & Compliance Assurance: Perform technical validation of AI algorithm outputs and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA/SOC 2 controls. You will establish guardrails (audit trails, least-privilege access) to ensure safe clinical deployment.
Execute & Operationalize: Independently manage technical implementation plans, defining scope and setting expectations with customers. You will drive "scrappy-but-safe" prototypes into production and facilitate the transition to steady-state ownership alongside Customer Success teams.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the technical voice in customer meetings, translating complex platform capabilities into clear value propositions for executives and non-technical stakeholders.
Drive Product Improvement: Provide input to internal cross-functional teams on platform gaps, identifying which capabilities are harder to deploy and helping to widen the competitive advantage.
You're a great fit if
You Thrive on Technical Challenges: You are a builder who enjoys pushing the boundaries of AI innovation and are comfortable digging deep into areas you are unfamiliar with to make it happen.
You Obsess Over Outcomes: You demonstrate strong product intuition, understanding that the goal is not just software delivery, but tangible ROI and improved outcomes for patients and providers.
You Bridge the Gap: You enjoy operating at the intersection of technical execution and strategic vision, inspiring innovation in the partners and leaders you build with.
You have an Entrepreneurial Mindset: You look at yourself as an owner who likes to build and solve challenges others have yet to master, thriving in an autonomous, high-performance environment.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in Forward Deployed, Solutions, or Implementation Engineering roles with significant client-facing responsibility.
Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js for backend development and scripting. Experience with APIs (REST, gRPC), event-driven architectures, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Practical experience building with LLMs, including prompting, RAG, vector databases, and evaluation frameworks.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, C-CDA) and workflows (Revenue Cycle, Access) is preferred.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences, from technical/IT teams to operational executives.
This role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and travel. You’ll spend about 50% of your time meeting with customers and teams on-site, and we ask that you join us in the office three days a week to stay connected and work closely with your teammates.
