Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to join Modern Recommendation System. The organization focuses on developing efficient foundational models as a platform to enable differentiated and delightful user experiences across Meta products. We are seeking a talented AI Research Scientist with experience in natural language processing, language models and general AI to join the team
AI Research Scientist - Language Responsibilities:
- Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
- Define, build and benchmark the efficient foundation models for recommendation system
- Conduct research towards long-term ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones.
- Conduct research to advance the science and technology of language modeling, natural language processing and generative AI modeling.
- Work with engineering teams to ship state-of-the-art models to product.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- PhD in natural language processing, language modeling or machine learning, model compression, model optimization or related areas.
- 2+ years of industry, academic, or government lab experience in natural language processing, language modeling and/or machine learning , model compression, model optimization or related areas.
- Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
- Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. EMNLP, ACL, NAACL, ICLR, NeurIPS etc).
- 4+ year(s) of work experience in an industry, university, or government lab

$143,000/year to $208,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
