As part of Waymo's Legal team, you will work on the exciting legal issues surrounding our transformational autonomous driving technology and help guide our business forward from technology development through scaled commercial deployment.
You will be based in or around the Bay area (hybrid in office/work from home) and report into our Assistant General Counsel.
You Will
- Manage and advise on lawsuits, investigations, and subpoena matters
- Provide proactive product counseling advice to our safety, engineering, and operations teams
- Advise on product litigation risk
- Advise on approaches to inbound inquiries, internal and external communications, and proposed safety publications
- Participate as a member of the legal incident response team
You Have
- 5+ years of prior litigation and/or product counseling experience with a law firm or in-house legal department.
- The ability to partner at all levels of the company and across different teams, including with executives and technical staff.
- Detailed and in-depth understanding of the litigation life-cycle, experience managing offensive and defensive litigation team efforts, and ediscovery processes, workflows and best practices.
- High level of enthusiasm for winning together as a team, driving achievement while being business-focused, and working collaboratively with legal and non-legal partners.
We Prefer
- Experience working with or at an automotive, technology company.Product counseling experience.
- Experience counseling across a range of subject matters relevant to regulated industries or AI.
- In-house and/or trial experience.
- Experience responding to governmental requests for information, or other product, commercial, employment, or IP litigation experience.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
